FarFarAway: The Bios
Elevator pitch:
FarFarAway is a rock band inspired by mid to late 90s/early 2000s pop/skate/emo punk but to be honest we’re over with labeling and subcategorizing our music so call it what you will. We make music and put on a highly energetic live show with the intention of making you sing along, pump your fists, and jump around.
Short bio:
FarFarAway is the result when five grown men who grew up getting sunburned annually at the early Warped Tours get together and write original music. Our list of influences are long but center around the chaotic energy of the turn of the century pop/skate/emo punk rock that never left us, and it comes through in our music. We aren’t a nostalgia act, but we do throw back to a simpler time for rock music when having fun was paramount. Buzzing guitars, sing-along vocals, melodic bass lines, and driving drums. That’s FarFarAway.

Were you there in the 90s and early 2000s when punk rock exploded on to the cultural landscape in a way that it hadn’t since the late 70s? If you weren’t there, FarFarAway would love to take you all back to that time when all you needed was buzzing guitars, driving drums, and sing-along vocals and lyrics to prompt a mosh pit and a good time.
FarFarAway’s influences are a long list that reads more like the ads of an old Thrasher magazine from back in the day. Turn of the century punk rock and a tinge of metal that we put all together and make something uniquely our own. Call it punk, call it pop-punk, skate punk, emo, whatever…we don’t waste time with labels. We just want to make face-melting rock.
FarFarAway is a live band. PERIOD. While we do enjoy the process of writing and recording a carefully curated selection of our efforts, it is the live show that is paramount. We perform with one goal in mind: fun. Fun for us and fun for the audience. The essence of what we love and where we came from is the energy of the live show. We write with the live show in mind and give 100%. A FarFarAway show’s success is measured in sweat and exhaustion caused by endless fist pumping, jumping, and shoving around your fellow concert goer.
So who makes up FarFarAway, anyway? We are: Eric (Vocals), Timmy G (Bass/Vocals), Jason aka “Moose” (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Tom (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), and Marty (Drums). Most of us have been in different bands with each other at one point or another over the years that would make for a very complicated Venn diagram. All that matters is FarFarAway is there in the middle. We have come together with our own influences and experiences to make our debut album “Constellations Strange”. We hope it finds a place near and dear to those who look back favorably at a simpler time in rock and roll like we do.
