The Highly Unlikely Origin Story of FarFarAway (Yes its all one word don’t ask its complicated)

How We Got Here (Spoiler: It Was Boredom)

FarFarAway first materialized in the primordial soup of 2023, initially as a humble three-piece unit forged by three individuals who were dangerously bored and foolishly convinced they could find the meaning of life lurking somewhere between a G-chord and a chorus pedal.

After a few disastrous (but enthusiastic!) vocal attempts, we collectively decided that none of us could actually sing, and the urgent quest for a vocalist began.

Our first official “audition” was less than fruitful: the pizza delivery person who showed up was highly talented but staunchly committed to the lucrative and cheese-laden “pizza life.”

The search continued, and eventually, we found our true vocalist. But the universe, it turns out, demanded more! The band wasn’t truly complete until we realized we needed a fifth individual: a very sweaty rhythm guitarist, required to anchor the ship and offer “okay” backup vocals (read: yelling into a mic). Before we knew it, we had inexplicably ballooned into a glorious five-piece musical organism.

What We Sound Like

What do we sound like? We are an all-original band that sounds like the glorious playlist you curated in your youth! Imagine throwing Thrice, NOFX, and Face to Face into a sonic blender—then, just to keep things interesting (and slightly epic), we pour in a little bit of Iron Maiden for good measure.

In short: we love and live for that mid-to-late ’90s and ’00s punk and emo sound. It’s nostalgia, but louder and significantly more likely to cause spontaneous moshing.

The Live Experience (Seriously, Bring Socks)

We are a live band, period. In our first year (2025), we crushed 20 successful shows across the area, and we bring non-stop energy every time. Our stage presence is all about connecting with the crowd. Seriously, bring extra socks—we’re gonna blow the ones you’re wearing off!

Up Next

We’re currently recording our all-original debut album, which is set to drop and dominate your playlists in May 2026. Prepare your ears (and your wallets).
